Quality of service (QOS) is build into the hardware to optimize the preferred traffic on the network. Every device or software on a network has specific protocols it utilises when sending data over the network and with QOS enabled we can optimize the quality of that connection.
For example:
Voice over IP (VOIP) is the ability to send voice over a network/internet. To ensure that voice calls stay crisp you need to make sure that there is enough bandwidth available for that call. By enabling QOS we split the connection into a 80/20 ratio 20% for voice calls and 80% for data. This will ensure that voice calls are always without stutter - your calls won’t break up or drop as is fairly common with other well known service providers.
